New restaurant approved in East Marylebone, London
29th September 2017
Caulmert is pleased to announce that on behalf of a private client, we have successfully advised and secured planning permission and advertisement consent from Westminster City Council, to change the use of a wholesale clothing warehouse to a restaurant (Class A3).
The premises are located within the East Marylebone Conservation Area and within a restrictive Special Policy Area (SPA), which seeks to protect changes of use of wholesale showrooms to other uses. Caulmert were able to advise our client of recent changes to this policy and recommended the client to pursue an application for planning permission.
Although an identified operator had not yet been sought, Caulmert’s planners have considerable experience in securing permissions for a number of restaurant companies, and were able to provide professional advice throughout. This included advice to the architects on appropriate layout and design, liaison with acoustic consultants and mechanical engineers in order to secure appropriate details and address planning policy requirements. The restaurant use will add vitality to the area, whilst enhancing the character and appearance of the conservation area.
Caulmert’s planners, have considerable experience in the restaurant/retail sector and are able to provide clients with unambiguous advice on their proposals and guidance on the most appropriate way to proceed to secure the desired outcome.
