Caulmert is a dynamic consultancy providing professional and effective client focused consultancy services within the UK and International markets to clients undertaking engineering, environmental & planning projects.
Due to continued growth, an opportunity now exists for a delivery-focussed individual to head up and manage the engineering team, to develop new opportunities in growth sectors in the UK and internationally as well as building upon the existing skills and capabilities within the Company.
This position is considered to be a key appointment by the company and depending on performance and the needs of the business further progression to the Board may be considered.
The Director of Engineering will lead and motivate an engineering team to optimise performance, and as a member of the Senior Management Team, contribute to the development and delivery of the company’s business plans and strategies.
Requirements:
You will be a Chartered Engineer, educated to degree level or equivalent; have an established track record in leading and delivering engineering design solutions in the UK and internationally in civil or structural engineering projects. Experience on the Client-side as well as on contractor-led design appointments will be beneficial. You will be able to lead, direct and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to achieve a common delivery objective, integrating with the contractor-clients as required. You will have an advanced understanding of the design/build interface and will be able to identify and manage the key drivers of project success.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Board and working alongside the Director for Technical Services, you will be responsible for identifying and securing project opportunities to secure the turnover and deliver profitability. You will have overall responsibility for leading and motivating the team and for directing the operations and project delivery.

• Strong contacts within the civil / structural engineering sector in UK and internationally
• Business development skills founded upon your proven ability to deliver excellence to your clients
• Established reputation within the civil / structural engineering sector
• Ideally you will have experience of delivering the design for civil / structural engineering projects within the renewable energy sector.
