Caulmert has been using its BIM (Building Information Modelling) capabilities for a £5m extension and remodelling of Purbrook Park School in Portsmouth. Paul Savile, Associate Director of Structures, has been involved with schemes, including multi million pound complex structures, for many years using BIM technology. Utilising Revit within our software portfolio allows us to model the structure in 3D as well as providing an efficient communication tool to which the design team can benefit. Andrew Smith, Caulmerts senior CAD Engineer, has been supporting Paul with the detailing of the school using Revit.

All UK Government projects must comply with the requirements of being developed using BIM technology by 2016. Since 2011, the cabinet office has been driving collaborative and efficient working through the introduction of the Building Information Modelling initiative. Caulmert has embraced this strategy and now delivers its projects with the use of Revit, which sits within the BIM process.
