Following recent success, on various schools projects in North Wales, Caulmert are once again pleased to have been selected for the Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy services on behalf of Wynne Construction. The new £4.8m two storey development, located on the existing Ysgol Gwenfro site in Caia Park, Wrexham is part of the Welsh Government’s £200m Schools and Public Buildings Contractor Framework for North Wales and forms part of Wrexham’s planned investment in their schools under Welsh Government‘s 21st Century Schools and Education Programme. Works are due to be completed by January 2017.
Andy Minter, Associate Director of Caulmert and Chartered Structural Engineer, commented “This is another success story for Caulmert and strengthens the working relationship with a local organisation, such as Wynne Construction, within the North Wales region. Having invested in the ‘Building Information Modelling (BIM)’ design process, Caulmert is pleased to once again be able to demonstrate the capability of our local resource to meet the requirements of a local project.
Chris Wynne, Managing Director, Wynne Construction: “As a reputable contractor in North Wales, we are totally committed to supporting the local businesses through the investment of the Contractor Framework and are keen to engage with local companies in readiness for the start of forthcoming projects, including this project for Wrexham County Borough Council”.
Following appointment, Caulmert was also able to support the design team with advice on geotechnical and geo-environmental services through our Associate, Alan Jones, also based in North Wales.
