Health and safety policy

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 imposes a statutory duty on employers to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the Health and Safety and Welfare of their employees whilst at work and any person who may be affected by their business activities. It is therefore our policy to comply, through normal business activity, with the 1974 Act, all applicable regulations and other legal requirements relating to Health and Safety.

Caulmert Limited recognises Health and Safety as a key measurable indicator of overall business performance, and will seek to maintain exceptional standards in terms of Health and Safety performance.
Employees also have a statutory duty to take care of themselves and others who may be affected. To ensure that these duties are carried out, it is our intention to ensure that responsibilities for Health and Safety matters are effectively defined, assigned, understood and fulfilled at all levels within Caulmert Limited.

Caulmert Limited will, so far as is reasonably possible:

  • Provide and maintain work equipment and systems of work that are safe and without risk to health;
  • Ensure that articles and substances are used, handled, stored and transported safely and with-out risk to health;
  • Provide all levels of information, instruction, training and supervision so that all employees are competent to carry out their duties and responsibilities;
  • Ensure that all workplaces under the control of Caulmert Limited are safe and without risks to health, including means of access and egress;
  • Ensure and maintain a working environment which is healthy, safe, without risks to health and has adequate facilities and arrangements for welfare at work of employees;
  • Conduct its business so that other persons who may be affected by the activities of Caulmert Limited are not exposed to risks to their Health and Safety;
  • Take care of their own Health and Safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions;
  • Co-operate with Caulmert Limited in matters relating to Health and Safety;
  • Take care of anything provided in the interests of Health and Safety.

Caulmert Limited will take reasonable steps to ensure that our employees fulfil their statutory responsibilities, and

  • Take care of their own Health and Safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions;
  • Co-operate with Caulmert Limited in matters relating to Health and Safety;
  • Take care of anything provided in the interests of Health and Safety.
  • The Health and Safety Policy of Caulmert Limited will be reviewed at least annually and revised as and when necessary.

All employees have a responsibility to comply with the provisions for the organisation and arrangements for Health and Safety as detailed in the Caulmert Limited Health & Safety Policy & Procedures.
