Caulmert is pleased to announce that on behalf of our client, Carluccio’s Ltd, we have successfully secured planning permission from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, to increase the floorspace of their existing restaurant space in South Kensington.
Carluccio’s, who have in excess of 95 restaurants across the country, pride themselves in providing customers with a contemporary Italian dining experience, where customers can enjoy the true flavours of Italy from breakfast through to dinner. Due to the continued success of their South Kensington restaurant and in order to accommodate the increasing demand, Caulmert were instructed to secure planning permission to change the use of the retail space within the adjacent unit to restaurant. Whilst the Council have a restrictive policy in place in relation to the loss of retail floorspace within certain areas, Caulmert’s planners were able to adequately demonstrate that proposals would accord with the requirements of the policy and would nevertheless protect the diversity and range of town centre uses in this secondary retail frontage.
Caulmert’s planners, who work on behalf of a number of restaurant companies, have considerable experience in the restaurant/retail sector and are able to provide clients with clear and professional advice on their proposals and guidance on the most appropriate way to proceed to secure the desired outcome.
