Caulmert is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Jones as Associate of Geotechnical Engineering. Alan will join the business in early June and take up the role of leading the Geotechnical Engineering section. Alan has over 15 years’ experience within Geotechnical Engineering, including appointments with Arup in Cardiff, prior to locating to North Wales, where he has enjoyed a successful career as an engineering geologist. Services that Alan will provide include:
• Desk studies and site investigations, including contaminated land;
• Geotechnical and contamination reporting;
• Landslide and rockfall assessments and remediation;
• Geotechnical design including, soil nails, ground anchors, embedded retaining walls, temporary works
Educated in North Wales prior to undertaking a BSc in Environmental Geoscience at Cardiff University, Alan further progressed his education through a masters degree in Engineering Geology at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Alan is a fluent welsh speaker and will be operating from our office in Bangor, North Wales.
