TGI Friday’s at Leicester Square, London.
Caulmert has provided professional planning consultancy advice to TGI Friday’s for a number of years, and has recently secured a number of permissions for them, to enable them to operate from their new flagship store at Leicester Square in London.
As the premises are located towards the end of a long liner frontage, thus having limited visibility, TGI Friday’s were clear from the outset that in order to ensure its success, they needed to make the restaurant stand out from the crowd when walking around Leicester Square.
The site is located within the Leicester Square conservation area, and therefore Westminster City Council have a number of policy restrictions in place, specifically in relation to replacement shop fronts and advertisement signage. Caulmert successfully negotiated with officers at Westminster City Council to secure planning permission for replacement shop fronts to both Leicester Square and Charring Cross Road frontages, in addition to securing consent for a vibrant external illuminated signage scheme.
As part of the proposals, Caulmert also secured permission for the provision of external tables, chairs and associated equipment on the Leicester Square frontage, whilst also securing the necessary external trading licence, which would allow customers to dine outside.Back to Projects
