Caulmert has been appointed to produce the Local Flood Risk Management Strategies for three County Councils.
As Lead Local Flood Authorities (LLFA), under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, the Councils have a responsibility to develop a strategy for local flood risk management. The Local Strategy will form the framework for the next six years within which communities have a greater say in local risk management decisions. It is anticipated that all LLFA will have their completed Local Strategies in place by 31 March 2013.
Caulmert’s experience in flood risk management has proven invaluable to the councils in helping them understand their new responsibilities within flood and coastal risk management. Caulmert will be working closely with all three councils to produce a draft strategy for consultation.
