Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women’s craft markets, theatrics performances, fashion parades and more. Caulmert celebrated international women’s day by joining Hons Secretary of State for Wales, Cheryl Gillan for lunch. Åsa Strickland, Board Director, had a golden opportunity to discuss business matters with Cheryl Gillan. Åsa was amongst a group of female business leaders invited to discuss how the government can assist small businesses in Wales better. Grant support to businesses, access to finance, the cost of childcare and flexible working was amongst the subjects discussed over a lunch at prestigious Bodysgallen Hall in Llandudno. ‘It was a fantastic opportunity to be able to discuss directly with such an influential politician’, Åsa commented.
