A North Wales-based engineering, environmental and planning consultancy is on the lookout for a director of planning as it plots a bright future.
Caulmert, which has offices in St Asaph, Bangor, Cheshire, Nottingham, and Kent, is searching for an experienced candidate to head up its five-strong planning division.
The new recruit will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting and challenging projects across the UK, including:
- Residential development schemes for both open market and social housing providers
- Development of a science and technology education facility in an area suffering multiple deprivations
- Energy projects, including solar arrays, gasification plants, pumped hydro, and battery storage
- Tourism and leisure projects including visitor centres, lodge parks and the extension of a tourist railway
- Erection of a range of commercial, industrial and warehouse units
- Development of waste transfer stations and materials recycling facilities
Current director of planning Howard Jones is taking up the new role of technical director and board director, and he would mentor and support the suitable applicant until they were settled in the role.
With more than 35 years’ experience in the industry, Howard is relishing the opportunity to aid Caulmert’s succession plan.
He said: “It’s a wonderful opportunity for someone to come in and make their mark on the planning team.
“I have been in the sector long enough to know the sort of impact the right person can have on the company, and I look forward to assisting with the chosen candidate’s future plans.”
As part of Caulmert’s strategy to grow and strengthen the planning team, the new director of planning’s vision and aspiration to develop those around them will play a major role in the development of the business.
There is an opportunity with this role for progression to board director and a potential share ownership of Caulmert.
Co-founder and managing director Mike Caulfield said: “We are excited about the future at Caulmert and have plans in place to grow, not only the planning team, but the company as a whole.
“Whoever joins us as director of planning will be able to make their mark on the team and have a major say in how we move forward.”
