Caulmert’s noise consultant recently acted as an expert witness at a successful planning appeal for a construction plant operator training centre in North Wales. The Local Planning Authority initially refused planning permission on the grounds that the proposal would result in unacceptable noise disturbance in the open countryside to the detriment of the amenity of the locality.
Caulmert prepared a noise assessment for the operation of the proposed training centre and its operations in accordance with British Standard BS4142 ‘Method for rating industrial noise affecting mixed residential and industrial areas’.
In allowing the appeal, the Planning Inspector agreed with the findings of the noise assessment prepared by Caulmert.
Caulmert will be involved in the monitoring of acoustic performance in consultation with the Local Authority’s Environmental Health Department.
