The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) and Royal Institute of Architects (RIBA) recently presented an 8 minute short film highlighting the contribution both Architects and Structural Engineers made to the successful delivery of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Speaking about the film, Institution immediate Past President, Professor John Nolan declared:
“I hope that this film goes some way in showing the extraordinary talents that make up “Construction Design GB” and the part it played in the universal acclaim achieved by the London 2012 Olympics.”
“While I am thrilled that we have been able to work with LOCOG to film on the Olympic Park site, it is dismaying that the marketing ban preventing structural engineers and architects from promoting their work was only lifted recently by the government, a whole six months after the Olympics started.”
“I hope that the film will encourage a new generation of young people to become the structural engineers of tomorrow and inspire them to emulate the great success of those who have contributed to this outstanding and most memorable event.”
