For the second year running, one of our Directors has been awarded ‘Director of the Year’ by the Institute of Directors at the annual celebration of business achievements across Wales, which recognises excellence amongst its business leaders.
Åsa Kolmert Strickland (co-founder of Caulmert and Board Director) was named ‘North Wales Young Director of the Year’ at a ceremony held at the SWALEC stadium, Cardiff on May 10th. The awards were attended by Edwina Hart, Assembly Member for the Gower Constituency.
Simon Walker, Director General, Institute of Directors commented:-
”To succeed in business you need determination towards achieving a goal and the qualities to bring your team with you. Risk taking, drive, motivation, leadership, focus and tenacity are just some of the many qualities that you all have and this is why you are here today.
We continue to face unique challenges as a nation and as business leaders. It is for those who see these challenges as opportunities, for those who are able to adapt and grow and for those that take the calculated risks and push the boundaries in their sectors that we are here, championing success and highlighting inspired business leadership.
To be a finalist means that your business is already winning, you are growing, you are succeeding in a tough business climate and, most importantly, you are creating jobs and wealth within your local community and the wider region. I wish you all success and I look forward to some of the winners here today going through to the IoD UK awards. I am delighted to be with you as we champion true business success in the Principality”.
Commenting on the award, Åsa (pictured above with other award winners) said “I am honoured to have received this award and delighted that the company’s success has been recognised by the IoD for the second year running”.
