Caulmert has secured a hybrid planning permission for the development of a brownfield site in Burnley for residential purposes. The hybrid permission grants full consent for the erection of 39 dwellings and outline consent for up to a further 38 dwellings. The site is included within an Economic Improvement Area but it was demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Borough Council that redevelopment for employment uses was not viable in the current economic climate. The site is located close to Padiham Town Centre and will act as a further catalyst for the regeneration of the area.
