An enthusiastic Drainage and Infrastructure Engineer is required to support the expansion of the business. This is a superb opportunity to work on a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects in different sectors including education, commercial, industrial, energy and waste sector.

Making a significant contribution to the day-to-day preparation and delivery of technical design information, your responsibilities and duties will include although not be limited to

Liaising with other members of the design team (either internal or external)

  • Liaising with contractors, clients, third party organisations and stakeholders, answering queries in relation to technical detailing
  • Sewer design in respect of Adoption 6 and Adoption 7
  • Producing preliminary drainage design solutions and reporting to inform pre-planning assessments of engineering infrastructure
  • Designing surface and foul water drainage using associated software design packages
  • Producing detailed drainage designs, calculations, drawings and specifications including QA and technical reviews
  • Managing drainage projects to cost and programme
  • Supervising the CAD Technicians on technical / construction details and undertake QA reviews
  • Mentoring and assisting junior staff
  • Complying with designers duties under the CDM Regulations

To be considered for this Senior Drainage and Infrastructure Engineer role you will have the following experience, skills, knowledge and attributes;

  • Proven post-qualification experience in civil / structural engineering, with a solid foundation of which gained within a similar engineering role
  • A minimum HNC in civil, water and environmental engineering or equivalent
  • Detailed knowledge of drainage design including SUDS
  • Working knowledge of relevant UK and European codes of practice
  • Working knowledge of BREEAM
  • Good experience of using WinDes Micro drainage analysis and design software
  • Client focused approach with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and develop a team, whilst working as part of a wider team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commercial awareness
  • UK driving license and own transport
  • Computer skills and use of CAD, Word, Excel and software packages
