Due to increased workload, we are seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join the Infrastructure/ Civil engineering team.

An enthusiastic Senior CAD Technician is required to support the expansion of the Infrastructure/ Civil Engineering team. This is a superb opportunity to work on a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects in different sectors including education, commercial, industrial, energy and waste sector.

Making a significant contribution to the day-to-day preparation and delivery of technical information, your responsibilities and duties will include although not be limited to;

  • Liaising with other members of the design team (either internal or external)
  • Liaising with contractors and answering queries in relation to technical detailing
  • Continuing to develop and promote the BIM / Civil 3D strategy within the business
  • Detailing of drainage, infrastructure and pavement construction.
  • Detailing of retaining structures and sub structures including reinforced concrete detailing and scheduling
  • Visiting sites during construction works
  • Liaising with the Design Engineers and co-ordinating the CAD / Civil 3D detailing on each project
  • Ensuring the quality procedures are adhered to and followed by the CAD / Civil 3D team
  • Supervising the CAD Technicians on technical / construction details and undertake QA reviews
  • Mentoring and assisting junior staff
  • Complying with designers duties under the CDM Regulations

To be considered for this Principal CAD / Revit Technician role you will have the following experience, skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • A minimum HNC civil engineering or equivalent
  • Proven post-qualification experience in civil / structural engineering, with a solid foundation of which gained within a similar engineering role
  • Detailed knowledge of infrastructure/ civil engineering detailing and construction techniques
  • Working knowledge of relevant UK and European codes of practice
  • Good experience of using AutoCAD and /or Civil 3D software
  • Client focused approach with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ambition, with a positive and proactive approach to work
  • Ability to supervise and develop a team, whilst working as part of a wider team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commercial awareness
  • UK driving license and own transport
  • Computer skills and use of Word, Excel and software packages
