Plastic Recycling Gains Momentum

The Government’s recycling target for plastic packaging envisages an almost doubling of recycling rates over the period 2013 – 2017. In response to this target Caulmert has prepared and submitted two planning applications to facilitate the development of a plastics sorting facility. The facility will segregate incoming mixed plastic waste into different polymer groups, which will enable higher grade recycling to take place. The planning applications also drew upon Caulmert’s wider environmental and engineering capabilities and we produced a noise assessment, flood risk assessment and phase one contaminated land assessment to support the applications.
