Caulmert have been appointed by Wynne as their design engineers to provide Civil, Structural and 3D Modelling for this project using BIM/Revit.
The redevelopment of the Bersham Road campus in Wrexham for Coleg Cambria was awarded to Contractor Wynne Construction. The project involved the demolition of smaller, detached buildings to create four core buildings. Three existing buildings were completely revamped and refurbished, and a brand new state-of-the-art teaching facility was constructed, along with substantial improvements made to the parking facilities. Refurbishment to the existing building involved considerable structural complications due to interface detail to the existing structures.
The Bersham Road campus mainly focuses on providing vocational subjects, including joinery, engineering, plastering and plumbing.
BREEAM
The building is constructed to BREEAM Excellent standards with highly sustainable features to include a fabric first design, the use of natural daylight and natural ventilation within, whilst also incorporating photovoltaic panels and air source heat pumps.
