Caulmert Limited were appointed on behalf of Viridor Waste Management Ltd.
The Crayford Trommel replacement project involved the construction of a hardstand working compound, decommissioning of the failed Trommel, including the removal from site of all equipment/plant/machinery, construction and installation of a replacement Trommel and associated conveyors, site fabrication, cold and hot commissioning.
The project was restricted to an eight-week delivery programme (all elements) to meet the operational requirements of the client, with the trommel replacement works being carried out over a 10-day period involving 24-hour site working and supervision.
The project sequence enabled production downtime and the impact on the business to be minimised whilst also allowing two separately procured contractors to work within the confined site without incident.
Caulmert provided full project management and contact administration services from initiation to completion, including civils design, client liaison, contractor procurement, contract (NEC3 Short Form and IChemE Orange book) preparation and administration, value engineering, stakeholder management and site supervision.
The project was delivered on time and within budget.
