Caulmert Limited were appointed by MFG Construction Ltd to improve the platform at Malton Station.
To improve capacity on the Liverpool – Scarborough route, Transpennine Express have introduced five carriage trains hauled by Class 68 locomotives. At Malton a section of platform had been improved previously to accommodate three coach trains.
Caulmert were appointed to extend the section of platform complying with current good practice to serve all five coaches. This work included raising the riser wall, fitting new copings and tactile pavers together with re-surfacing and improvements to the platform drainage.
In addition to the design work Caulmert provided the Contractor MFG Construction with lead design services obtaining all of the required consents to facilitate construction.
