Caulmert was commissioned to provide a range of geotechnical, civil and structural engineering design services on behalf of Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd for the first phase of development at Menai Science Park in Gaerwen, Anglesey.
The scheme involved the design of a new three storey high specification building and adjoined two storey “Open Innovation Space” containing 5,000m² of gross area. The building forms a central hub, and a resource for both the tenants of this building, and the future occupants of the rest of the park.
With the project being a BIM project, Caulmert detailed the scheme using Revit 2015 in compliance with Willmott Dixon’s BIM Execution Plan (BEP). This allowed the design team to review and detail the remaining building around the 3D model. This also enabled the team to detect and iron out any clashes at a much earlier stage.
Corporate social responsibility, local impact and community engagement was a key focus on M-SParc, something as a business Caulmert promotes. On M-SParc we supported the local team including a presentation to students as part of the Troi Workshop initiative.
