Caulmert Limited were appointed on behalf of Waivis Limited.
The project involved the construction and formation of a break-out and welfare facility, a full electrical installation (including high level warehouse lighting and three phase machine supplies), fire and intruder alarms, a compressed air provision, installation of a full heating and ventilation system, upgrade of telecoms and a full data installation, decommissioning, relocation and recommissioning of existing production machinery and the installation of a new racking system.
The project was procured as design and build and was restricted to a six-week delivery programme to meet the logistical requirements of the client’s relocation from its existing lease expiring premises.
The project sequence and phased handover enabled production downtime and the impact on the business to be minimised whilst also allowing four separately procured contractors to work within the confined site without incident.
Caulmert provided full project and contact management services from initiation to completion, including outline designs, client liaison, Principal Designer duties, contractor procurement, contract (NEC3 Short) preparation and administration, value engineering, stakeholder management and site supervision.
The project was delivered on time and within budget.
