Caulmert have been appointed by a major waste operator to provide planning and Permitting advice to extend the footprint of an existing waste transfer station onto an area of adjacent grazing land. A new waste transfer building and associated infrastructure will enhance the existing facility which is situated in relatively close proximity to a National Park and SSSI.
To support this development Caulmert will be providing the following in house services:
Pre-application meeting with the appropriate Planning Officer representing the County Council’s Joint Waste Management Team;
Liaison with scheme designers;
Preparation of Design and Access Statement and a Supporting Planning Statement;
Preparation and submission of planning application for the proposed development;

Monitor the progress of the planning application and responding to the Local Planning Authority, as necessary.
Undertake an extended Phase One habitat survey of the site and its surroundings, with a view to determining the likely effects of the proposed development for nature conservation and for the SSSI in particular.
Undertake a background noise survey in the area within which the proposed development is to be located, with particular reference to any sensitive receptors that may be present;
Having regard to source noise levels likely to be generated by the proposed waste transfer station building and the intended hours of operation, we will calculate the likely noise impact of the proposed development upon existing background noise levels at the nearest sensitive receptors; We will establish whether the proposed development is likely to satisfy relevant noise standards or whether additional noise mitigation will be required.
Preparation and submission of a bespoke permit application for a waste operation which will incorporate a site condition report and H1 risk assessments and other supporting documents.
