Several Local Planning Authorities in North Wales are currently preparing new Local Development Plans (LDPs), which will identify what can be built and where, and tackle the need and locations for various types of development including housing, employment, community facilities, retail, open space and other land uses. The new Local Development Plans, once adopted, will determine how the Local Planning Authorities take future planning and development decisions in their area.
The preparation of revised LDPs present opportunities for landowners, developers and the local community to engage in policy changes that will shape development in their area.
Our experienced team has a strong track record in Development Plan work across North Wales and is ready to help with responses or the submission of candidate sites. Caulmert has two offices in North Wales, and are listed in the RTPI Planning Directory. With submission deadlines upcoming, now is the ideal time to get in touch with us.
Conwy Replacement Local Development Plan
Conwy County Borough Council have published their Draft Replacement LDP for the period 2018 – 2033 for public consultation. The consultation runs until 22nd March 2026.
The Replacement LDP is a key planning document that sets out where new homes, employment sites, and green spaces will be located across Conwy County (excluding the Eryri National Park area).
This is an important consultation for the future planning policy within Conwy and we advise those with an interest in the area to review the Draft Replacement LDP, in particular the proposed allocations for residential and commercial developments.
Please get in touch with our Planning team should you require advice on how to respond.
