Gordonstown Hill Wind Farm in Aberdeenshire is currently under development and will consist of 5 wind turbines with a total generation capacity of 12.5MW.
Caulmert were commissioned to assess the permanent Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) strategy for the development. Our engineers carried out in situ testing and calculation of the rates of infiltration in accordance with BRE Digest 365 ‘Soakaway Design’. Based on the results of the infiltration testing, a drainage strategy in the form of sand and gravel filled linear soakaways was recommended for the development. Sand and gravel were obtained from the site excavation materials with minimum cost to the client.
