A solar array in North Wales, for which Caulmert secured planning permission, was commissioned shortly before Christmas and is now fully operational, enabling the client to secure their preliminary Feed in Tariff accreditation.
In December 2014, Caulmert also obtained planning permission for the development of a solar array, with a generating capacity of up to 5mw on a 10ha site in Wrexham. Caulmert was closely involved in pre-application public consultations and managed the planning application process, drawing together specialist inputs on ecology, archaeology and landscape and visual impact. Close liaison with the Local Planning Authority, whilst the planning application was under consideration, ensured that the planning consent was not subject to pre-commencement conditions which may have delayed implementation. Site works have commenced already and the solar array is likely to be generating electricity by March.
Caulmert has now been appointed to manage the planning application process, and to co-ordinate the preparation of specialist inputs in connection with the proposed development of solar arrays on four sites in England and Wales.
