Caulmert is pleased to have been appointed by Stoke City (Property) Ltd, who manage facilities for Stoke City Football Club, to provide engineering consultancy services for their proposed pitch reconstruction project. As part of the football clubs development programme, the existing first team pitches at their Clayton Wood training ground will be replaced with state of the art hybrid synthetic training pitches. The site is located adjacent to ‘Lyme Brook’ which poses challenges to the club in terms of logistics and flooding. Due to the large volumes of material to be replaced, Caulmert will be assisting the club with flood modelling, earthworks engineering, structural and foundation engineering, geotechnical engineering and environmental permitting.
Since promotion into the Premier League in 2007/08, Stoke City FC has become a regular member of the top flight of English football, finishing in the top ten in the last two seasons. Established in 1863, Stoke City FC are the second oldest professional football club in the world. Included within their current line up are familiar household names such as Ryan Shawcross, Glen Johnson, Jon Walters, Peter Crouch and recent record signing Xherdan Shaqiri.
Caulmert Director, Allan Smith, commented “we are pleased to have been appointed by such a high profile organisation such as Stoke City (Property) Ltd and look forward to working with the project team in their ambitious development programme going forward”.
